Quentin Tarantino was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, on March 27, 1963 and is a writer, director, actor and film producer U.S. Oscar winner and the Palme d'
Tarantino's name refers to a character in a television series, the blacksmith Quint played by Burt mestizo Reynolds on Gunsmoke. When he was two, the filmmaker's single mom moved with him to South Bay, south of Los Angeles home for the next two decades.
His neighborhood in the city of Torrance was a mixture of black and white as it was exposed to a variety of cinematic influences and popular culture. For example, martial arts films, which were put in black neighborhoods after the kung fu fever moved to other sites. Tarantino managed to continue seeing them well into the 70's.
Tarantino dropped out of school at 17 to give acting classes and stay with odd jobs. At 22 he found a sort of second home at Video Archives in Manhattan Beach, where his major knowledge of old movies you were very helpful.
Along with Roger Avary and Jerry Martinez, began to offer practical scenes in her acting classes. After some time working with Avary and other friends, Tarantino spent several frustrating years writing and trying to launch two scripts that pretend to be his directorial debut. Partly as a result of his frustration at the difficulty of making a "real movie" with an unknown writer and director, Tarantino wrote Reservoir Dogs in 1991, with the intention to be the most minimalist project imaginable: the story of an armed robbery in the theft occurs off screen, pages and pages of dialogue that need a single set. Intended to be an extremely cheap 16mm film with Tarantino and his Video Archives buddies playing all the roles.
Fortunately, an ambitious producer, Lawrence Bender read the script for "Dogs" and was fascinated. Tarantino asked to grant him a month to try to make it a "real movie." It was Bender who got the script to actor Harvey Keitel and was Keitel's enthusiasm that attracted several good actors and, finally, a decent budget for production. Filmed in less than a month in Los Angeles with an exceptional cast including Michael Madsen, Steve Buscemi, Tim Roth, Lawrence Tierney, Chris Penn and Tarantino himself, plus Keitel, Dogs was a success, first at the Sundance Film Festival and later throughout the world.
From there ... and as we all know the tarantino completely cool.
